Giants restrict Tigers to 142-4
Despite a fine unbeaten half-century by Lance Klusener, Kolkata Tigers could manage to post a small total of 142-4 in their allotted 20 overs against Delhi Gaints in the second edition of the Indian Cricket League’s Twenty20 tourney here at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium on Thursday.
Even after getting off to a good start and losing just four wickets, yet the Giants’ bowlers never let the Tigers’ batsmen dominate. Klusener was the lone batsman, who made a consistent 62 from 61 balls with 8 fours.
Electing to bat first, Kolkata Tigers got off to a flying start. Openers - Deep Dasgupta and Klusener got into the rhythm quickly and sent the fielders on a leather hunt.
Dasgupta was particularly in a vibrant mood as he assaulted the bowlers, scoring an excellent 21-ball 35, studded with 4 boundaries and a six before J P Yadav claimed his wicket.
