Mendis Eyes Tendulkar Scalp

Sri Lanka’s Ajantha Mendis is eagerly anticipating bowling to India’s much-vaunted batting line-up when the three-Test series begins next week.

The spinner took six for 13 in eight overs to run through India in the final of the Asia Cup in Karachi earlier this month.

Mendis is now relishing the chance to tackle Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman in the longer form of the game.

The 23-year-old, who is poised to make his Test debut when the first match of the series begins in Colombo on July 23, revealed he has a plan for each member of the ‘Fab Four’.

“Playing the Indians will be my biggest test so far,” said Mendis, who is particularly looking forward to playing against Tendulkar.
